Dr. Tony Evans is a great teacher and preacher. I have read some of his resources in the past. I found this book to be repetitive, telling me the same thing over and over and over. I believe the point could have been gotten across in 20 pages or less. He shares several personal moments and examples to coincide with the scripture he is writing about, but for me, it was not necessary to use so many. Less is more.
If you're looking for a Bible Study this is for your group. Be prepared though for some "Detours" to come along the way while in the study though. Very good study and thought provoking as you learn a bit about yourself as well.
Powerful book with good sound instruction for dealing with life's curve balls. The bible stories referenced are a great reminder that God is in control. It truly helped me understand that even the families from biblical times were dysfunctional. The people that trusted God and walked with HIM, in spite of the problems and character defects always grew through their trials and struggles, always changed and became people of integrity and honor. Awesome resource for personal growth!
This one is definitely an eye opener. I strongly recommend it for 17 years old and up. If things in your life don't always go as planned or if you are hurt over a situation this one is for you. Unforgiveness? Grudges? Not sure that you are headed in the right direction? Buy this study and get the video too!
